Bulmer is a highly regarded village that stands in the rolling North Yorkshire countryside, on the eastern edge of the Howardian Hills. It is a Conservation Area within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Formerly an Estate village of nearby Castle Howard, Bulmer retains the integrity and identity of its original status; stone built houses under red tiled roofs look across a broad village street at one another in the way they have done for two hundred years or more. In neighbouring Welburn, there is a pretty 11th century church, a fine dining pub and a primary school; and three miles away is the highly regarded private school, Terrington Hall. The charming market town of Malton, ‘Yorkshire’s food capital’ is a 10 minute drive north, and offers a regular service to York and then to London Kings Cross in a best scheduled time under two hours.
