The village of Hovingham is one of North Yorkshire’s prettiest, home to the Worsley family and to the famous Hovingham Hall, with its rolling parkland and private cricket ground. It lies within the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within the Ryedale District of North Yorkshire. The village itself has a thriving community with a doctor’s surgery, artisan baker, tearoom, village stores, primary school, hairdresser, hotel and pub. There is a highly regarded monthly village market and bus service to Malton and Helmsley, both equidistant from Hovingham and each with a full range of facilities.  Historic York is about half an hour’s drive to the south and the open country of the North York Moors is but a short distance north.  Malton – ‘the food capital of Yorkshire’ has a railway station with connections to York and beyond to London.
