Managing Director
Edward acquired Blenkin & Co in 2014 having worked alongside Tim Blenkin for half of its thirty-year trading history at York’s High Petergate office. Upon taking the reins Edward assembled the best team of property and marketing specialists in Yorkshire, investing in existing staff and bringing in new, experienced professionals able to flourish in a dynamic, independent environment. He has empowered the business by supporting new technologies, encouraging innovation and putting into place eco-friendly practices whilst masterminding the move to a flagship office in Bootham and securing the ‘Best Small Agent’ award at the Yorkshire Property Awards 2021.
Edward knows every one of his clients face to face and is renowned for his straight-talking and decisive action. He uses his boundless energy and experience to enlist the best properties across city, country and coast, going to great lengths to deliver successful outcomes. Edward has overseen a steady growth in the business with turnover increasing year on year. His knowledge of property values across the county is revealed by recent statistics that show how most Blenkin & Co properties sell within six weeks and within one per cent of their listed guide price.
A politics graduate of Newcastle University Edward is from a farming family with close connections in the Yorkshire Wolds, North York Moors and Heritage Coast. He has enduring knowledge of the people and geography of North Yorkshire, and lives with his GP wife, young daughter and Golden Labrador Finch in a village just outside the market town of Malton.
Private Sales Broker
George, the newest member of the team, was welcomed to Blenkin & Co in 2020 after graduating with a first-class honours degree in Real Estate. He is in the process of becoming a Chartered Surveyor. Born and bred in North Yorkshire, George went to prep school in Terrington where his love for sport and country pursuits was cemented, and he completed his schooling at St Peter’s in York. His passion for property began at a young age inspired by his family’s long history in construction and property management. Now established as Edward’s sidekick, George has hit the ground running and heads up the Land and New Build division of Blenkin & Co as well as getting involved in all aspects of the business.
Sales and Office Manager
Having twenty years’ estate agency work under her belt, Jo knows the intricacies of the buying and selling process like the back of her hand, clocking up over thirteen years with a high end national firm. She joined the Blenkin & Co team as the Sales & Office Manager in March 2020, taking the bull by the horns and turning her extraordinary start date into an opportunity to streamline and enhance the client experience, introduce eco-friendly practices and build stronger and more enduring relationships with buyers. She handles everything from organising the initial start-up of a property, liaising with vendors and buyers, negotiating sales as well as overseeing the day-to-day tasks that running a busy office brings. Jo is our go-to for clients and the team alike. York born and bred, there is little she doesn’t know about the city and its people. She lives just a short stroll from the office and divides her full-time position between her home and office.

Hilary cut her teeth in central London during the 1990s starting life at an international publishing company before taking charge of the Marketing Department for an international estate agency franchise. She has been part of the team at Blenkin & Co for many years involved in the transformation and growth of the business during Edward’s tenure. As head of Marketing she meets new clients, absorbs information, and oversees the preparation of a property for launch. All advertising is booked through Hilary and her PR record is impeccable. Long established links with key property writers from the national media and journalists across Yorkshire have provided high profile opportunities for the promotion of clients’ property. Having previously enjoyed city and country life, Hilary now resides in the market town of Malton with her GP husband, children and two terriers.

Angela hails from an established farming and equestrian family in Thixendale, a beautiful village in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. A keen horse rider she takes full advantage of her love of the outdoors, exploring the beautiful countryside of East Yorkshire by walking and cycling many miles each week. She joined Blenkin & Co in 2018 having been in property sales since 2000, acquiring her wide-ranging experience with UK based estate agency. Widely known and respected in the industry, Angela is our Sales Director who expedites deals, produces successful outcomes out of many precarious situations and creates a multitude of appreciative clients and buyers across the region. She is as passionate about her role within Blenkin & Co as she is about the area in which she lives; her unsurpassed local knowledge of the geography and people of Yorkshire coupled with her professional experience make her a force to be reckoned with.
Lettings Manager
Our newest recruit to the team is Jennifer. Appointed to head up the expansion of the business into residential lettings. Jennifer comes with a decade of lettings experience and can either be found at the office or working from our branded Land Rover Defender, the 'mobile command centre'.
Client Account Manager
Yorkshire born and a long-time resident of both Ryedale and York city centre, Kate now lives in the suburbs with her husband and can often be seen pedaling furiously to and from the office. A former pupil of St Peter’s school where her children were also schooled, she was frequently seen on the York RUFC touchline, supporting her son. When not in the office, Kate offers French tuition, is a member of her local council, enjoys walking her dogs and spending time with her grown up children and step-children. Formerly the Office Manager, Kate has now taken a step back from the day-to-day running of the office and is offering her crucial support to the rest of the team in a part time role that focuses on client accounts.
Viewing Agent
Mieke has known us for many years and chose to sell her own country house through Blenkin & Co. North Yorkshire born and bred she lives with her family outside Hovingham and is instrumental in responding swiftly to buyers who have expressed a need to view country property in the Howardian Hills, Moors and Coast.
Viewing Agent
A long term York resident, Sarah brings with her considerable authority and experience when it comes to conducting viewings in the city, surrounding villages and East Riding. A writer and columnist, she is the daughter of North Yorkshire bobby and author Peter Walker who, under the pseudonym Nicholas Rhea, wrote the successful Constable series of books which inspired the TV series Heartbeat. Sarah followed in her father’s footsteps when she took over the column after his death in 2017. Now known as The Countryman’s Daughter, Sarah’s column appears weekly in the Darlington & Stockton Times and the Ryedale Gazette and Herald.

Anna has worked alongside Blenkin & Co for a number of years providing invaluable help conducting country house viewings. Her long acquaintance with the people and geography of the Howardian Hills is helpful to buyers who respond enthusiastically to her breadth of local knowledge.
Office Assistant
Our four-legged companion Finch is a vital part of our team. When Finch isn't in the office, he can be found in either City, Country or Coast, the latter being his favourite!

We respond in real time to the demands of the business and are always ready to pick up the phone or respond to an email outside regular working hours, evenings and weekends, never sidestepping a difficult conversation. We value our serious buyers who, in 2022, are increasingly mobile and international and are as likely to be incomers as they are to be home-grown.
